Howdy Folks,

Curious if anyone you know also reads/collects comic books? It is in many ways a dying field, with the big two (Marvel & DC) thriving in their corporate funded environments. For the smaller publishers, they come and go with a few good ones still going strong. One of them filed for bankruptcy protection recently, and another is also struggling to pay their freelancers. I must be crazy to want to continue doing this. As an independent publisher, I retain total control and get to do things my way. For now, it suits me well, and maybe things will change in the future. So why do I do comics? Quite simply, I have a story to tell, and I love the art of the medium. It's my way of making sense of the world and the people in it, and as much as it strays from reality, quite a bit of it is in tune with it. Which brings me to our dark dystopia in Eye of The Keeper. The first comic launch will be a tribute to the late Dheeraj Verma (with epic art and stories in Lady Death, Call of Duty, Transformers, and more). You heard it here first. It is THE ONLY way to launch this story, and I am so proud of what Dheeraj and I produced in those early days.

I'm preparing for a Kickstarter, and planning to launch in the first quarter of 2023. It'll feature art from twenty years ago, that was never published, along with new stories and art that set the stage for what is to come. I call this the Limited Edition Ashcan Comic Book. Ashcan's are small promo books before a number one issue is released. In this case, it's more than a promo, because it has real stories and full comic book pages, with a twist of how things are done here at BamZap. This is going to be a one of a kind Ashcan, meaning the first of its type in the industry, and I believe will be sought after once it's gone (I can only imagine the Ebay prices). Quantities will be super limited and mostly available in the Kickstarter.

Dheeraj, my brother from another mother, would be proud. I have his wife Malti's blessing to go ahead and publish everything. He has already left a legacy of art behind, and Eye of The Keeper was his first North American comics work (mine too). It's a journey come full circle for me too, having commissioned Dheeraj for only a small number of artworks and stories, that finally get to see the light of day. Check out our new website to see the beginning of this tribute. Also, 2023 will be Eye of The Keeper's 30th anniversary since its creation overall. There's so much to share and celebrate.
