There was a time where I believed that Eye of The Keeper would always be a black and white comic book. No grey tones...just stark monotone contrasts.

Yet something about a dark dystopian comic story didn't mean it needed to be devoid of color. If anything, color itself was part of a system of control, and defiance. And in comics, color is often a representation of the manifestation of power, among so many other things.

How is everyone doing? A little brightness is being stripped as Autumn changes the landscape. The sky is a tad duller given the day, but that is also another cool visual of season's changing.

My story is overcast with shades of green. Even though scenes are taking place at night, it's an illuminating reminder that toxicity remains in the air, and The City of Tears, no matter its reign, exists in a delicate balance over an endless ocean, and the sanity one needs to survive.

The pages have an interesting spectrum of colors, and we're going to keep playing with the design, to get the right feel.

With the Special Edition almost done (lettering in progress), marketing and launch date to follow, we've also already begun the colors for issue one. That will be the start of the main storyline.

Twenty plus years of older pages of art are seeing color for the first time. There's also one specific issue from the early 90s that was hand drawn and painted on large art boards, (two pages per board) which will be scanned and published. I would like to preserve those colors as much as possible, because it was my first full color comic ever, produced by a small team of us creators. It was over thirty years ago, from a story that has since been re-written, but that I also thought wouldn't make the final cut.

Don't even get me started on the black and white editions. Those look fab too!
